German designer Manuel Welsky’s SCRW Stool allows users to stylishly adjust the seat’s height for the perfect fit.
From the website: Made from a high-quality steel pipe, the frame is an exciting contrast to the cork material from which the body is made. The massive cork cylinder appears light in this combination. Its unique features provide a comfortable seating experience.

3. Nest Learning Thermostat

Feel disappointed that your thermostat doesn’t make any effort to get to know you? The Nest Learning Thermostat, created by prolific inventer Tony Fadell (he holds over 100 patents!), asks you a few questions and gets to know your temperature preferences. After about a week, it will take care of regulating the temperature automatically. Fadell explains: “Turns out you change the temperature in your house 1500 times a year. 1500! Our thermostat learns what temperatures you like so it can program itself. It senses when you’re out and turns itself down. And we started from scratch with design, so it’s beautiful. Gorgeous hardware, easy install, fully integrated software, remote control from your smartphone.”
Options include remote access and energy-saving modules. Priced at $249. Order yours here.
